The word nature is derived from the Latina word natura, or "essential qualities, innate disposition", and in olden days, literally intended "birth".

Natura is a Latin translation of the Greek phrase physis (????? ), which formerly related to the intrinsic characteristics that vegetation, animals, and other features of the world develop of their own contract.

Typically the concept of nature as a whole, the physical universe, is 1 of several expansions of the original notion; it started out with certain primary applications of the word????? by pre-Socratic philosophers, and has steadily gained currency ever since. This consumption continuing during the advent of modern scientific method in the last several centuries.
